Hi!
I’m Zona, Im a tree hugging mother to two little cheeky butts Furqan and Quratulain. I’m a hopeless creative at heart torn between the kitchen and creating food to interior and creating beautiful spaces, oh and gardening and DIY and ‘jab mein bari ho gi tu mein sab kuch bano gi”(when I grow up I’ll be everything). Don’t know how much growing up I have left though, already see some gray in my hair! EEK
What have I studied? Finance and environmental policy. I like to pretend I know things about the environment and life in general but you’re welcome to burst my bubble in the comment section. I pretend to be a self taught interior stylist, and aspire to be a chef, with a successful charity, living on a homestead only eating what I grow while washing my clothes with soapberries.
Why tkozi? Well the story began when a darling girl called Fouzia was born. Her nearest called her fozi, and her dearest adoringly called her tkozi, because she was always seen with a cup of chai. Fozi- tkozi (as in tea cozy as if it wasn’t clear). That darling girl grew up and her first born (me) inherited her love for tea. Since she’s my mama and I want to impress her and be her favorite daughter forever, I decided to call it tkozi. It is what it is! (hoping to get some Jannah points here!)
I love carbs, but I feel fantastic on Keto, so you can imagine my daily struggle. I was born and raised in Lahore, arguably the best city in the world. I’m married and in the 8 years lived in three different countries, Australia, Dubai and currently Houston. I enjoy the travel and love the exposure my kids get but it is a struggle to pack up and leave every 3 years or so. I’m happy to share that experience with you and record it for myself and for my littles here.
I’m trying to be a positive, hippy mama but failing daily. But I’m hoping I’ll get better and if you have the same struggles you can hope here with me! Since there’s a plethora of blogs out there with something for everyone, I’ll be honest with you here I am average, sometimes below average but I promise to be very very real!
Together we’ll try to have lots of chai sessions and pretend to listen to each other whilst nodding over the noise of my screaming little mutants burning the house down.
But really, thanks for coming by, I hope you stay!
Chai?
